The Viking Vengeance event in Kingshot takes place twice a week, on Tuesday and Thursday. Players must defend against 20 waves of AI-controlled Viking troops. The attacks can target:
- All alliance members
- Online members only
- Your HQ (Plains HQ is usually a major target)
To successfully defend a wave, you must kill at least 50% of the attacking troops.
- If you lose two battles, Vikings stop attacking you, but you can still earn points by reinforcing allies.
- The event can start automatically if a time is set, or manually by R5/R4 leaders.
How Points Work
Your personal points depend on how many of Viking troops die in your city.
- Killing 100% of enemy troops gives you 100% of possible points.
- Reinforcing others does not steal their points—instead, it creates extra bonus points for you.
This allows both you and your allies to maximize your event points.
Basic Strategy for All Players
- Check each wave’s target—waves 10 and 20 often attack HQ.
- Train extra troops before the event if possible.
- Heal troops after every wave to stay in the fight.
- If eliminated early, reinforce strong players to keep earning points.
- Find a group to trade reinforcements—they will defend your base while you do the same for them.
Strategy for Low-Power Players
- Focus on defending your own city first.
- Request reinforcements from strong allies.
- If eliminated, help others by reinforcing them.
- Keeping 200-250K T9 troops in your base (via reinforcements) with your main heroes should be enough to survive all waves.
Strategy for Strong Players
Maximizing Points with Reinforcement Trading
Since points come from Viking deaths in your own city, sending your troops to reinforce allies lets you earn extra points from their battles.
How It Works
- Form a group of three players (A, B, and C).
- Each player sends two marches of troops:
- 1st march order: A → B → C → A
- 2nd march order (reverse): A → C → B → A
This keeps your city full of allies’ troops while your own troops fight in their cities, maximizing points.
Important Details
- Do not send your main heroes—they stay in your base.
- You can completely empty your base and let allies fight Viking for you.
- If done right, you’ll have up to 6 marches reinforcing others while still earning full wave clear points from your city.
Example:
- Player A sends troops to B and C.
- Player B sends to C and A.
- Player C sends to A and B.
- This ensures each base has reinforcements while all players still earn points.
Step-by-Step Battle Plan
Phase 1: Waves 1-9 (City Defense & Reinforcement Setup)
- Find your reinforcement partners (A, B, C).
- Trade reinforcements as described above.
- Keep your main heroes at home for defense.
- Do not recall troops unless needed.
- After Wave 9, recall troops from allies to prepare for HQ defense.
Phase 2: Waves 10-20 (HQ Battle & Final Defense)
- When Wave 9 hits, send your troops to HQ to defend.
- Stay at HQ for Wave 10’s attack.
- Once Wave 10 is over, recall your troops.
- Continue reinforcing allies while defending your city.
- After Wave 19, prepare for another HQ attack on Wave 20.
Tip: Only recall nearby reinforcements—you don’t need to bring back everything.
How to Handle Higher Levels of Viking Vengeance
- For Level 11 and above, it’s recommended to have at least 3 players with T9 troops for proper defense.
- Stats also matter—a single player with above-average stats can usually handle Viking’s attacks.
- If you are confident, empty your base to get maximum reinforcement points while allies defend you.
FAQs
1. Does Viking Vengeance start automatically?
- Yes, if a time has been set. Otherwise, an R5 or R4 must start it manually.
2. What if my base is empty? Who defends it?
- Your reinforcement partners will defend your base while you do the same for them.
3. When should I recall troops?
- After Wave 9, recall troops to help defend HQ.
- After HQ defense (Wave 10 and Wave 20), send them back to reinforce allies.
