I’ve already shared this strategy in the community guides section of Kingshot’s Discord, and I thought it would be nice to post it here as well for those who prefer reading it on the website.
TG8 and Tempered Truegold Overview
Around 310–320 days into the kingdom age, you unlock Truegold 8 (TG8) building upgrades. These upgrades require a new material called Tempered Truegold, in addition to regular Truegold and other resources.
Tempered Truegold is harder to obtain. The only way to get it is through the Super Refinement feature in the Truegold Crucible, which also unlocks at TG8.
How Super Refinement Works
Super Refinement allows you to convert regular Truegold into Tempered Truegold. However, the Truegold cost increases as you move into higher refinement tiers.
- You can perform up to 100 super refinements per week
- The count resets every Monday
- When it resets, you are sent back to Tier 1
Super Refinement Tiers
- Tier 1 (1–20 refinements): 20 Truegold → 1–3 Tempered Truegold (RNG-based)
- Tier 2 (21–40 refinements): 50 Truegold → 2–3 Tempered Truegold (RNG-based)
- Tier 3 (41–60 refinements): 100 Truegold → 3–6 Tempered Truegold (RNG-based)
- Tier 4 (61–80 refinements): 130 Truegold → 3–9 Tempered Truegold (RNG-based)
- Tier 5 (81–100 refinements): 160 Truegold → 3–12 Tempered Truegold (RNG-based)
Why Rushing Is Inefficient
Because the Truegold cost increases with each tier, rushing upgrades beyond TG5 becomes inefficient once Tempered Truegold is required. Staying in Tier 1 gives you the best value for your Truegold.
There’s also an important bonus:
The first refinement of each day costs half the normal amount.
- In Tier 1, your first daily refinement costs 10 Truegold instead of 20
- In Tier 2, your first daily refinement costs 25 Truegold instead of 50
Optimal Weekly Strategy
The most efficient strategy is:
- Every Monday, when tiers reset:
- Do all 20 Tier 1 refinements immediately
- After that, you enter Tier 2
- For the rest of the week:
- Do only 1 refinement per day
- Take advantage of the half-cost daily refinement in Tier 2
By doing all Tier 1 refinements on Monday and then staying in Tier 2 for the rest of the week, you get the best overall return for your Truegold spent.
